Physics Education Emphasis

The physics education emphasis differs from the science education major in that it provides the option of taking either SCI ED 6299 or PHYSICS 6299. A combined total of thirty-six (36) hours in physics is required between undergraduate and graduate physics content courses.

Thesis Option

Research: SCI ED 6299 or PHYSICS 6299 6 hrs
Courses from the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences with at least eight (8) hours of physics 8 hrs
Electives from Education or Science and Science Education 5 hrs
Total 19 hrs

Non-Thesis Option

Research: SCI ED 6299 or PHYSICS 6299 3 hrs
Courses from the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences with at least eight (8) hours of physics 11 hrs
Electives from Education or Science and Science Education 7 hrs
Total 21 hrs
